Art diary This month is the opening of the 13th edition of Dak’Art – Biennale of Contemporary African Art. Curated by Simon Njami for the second consecutive time, the biennial entitled The Red Hour will present works by 75 artists from 33 countries. In addition to the main exhibition the biennial will also include five projects by guest curators Cosmin Costinas, Marianne Hultman, Marisol Rodriguez, Alya Sebti, and Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung. Back in the UK, the programme of events around Lubaina Himid’s exhibition Hard Times continues with ‘Imbalance Redressed’, a conversation about the under-representation of women in national and public art collections and how this is being addressed. With Mark Doyle, Christine Eyene, Lubaina Himid, Dr Ella S Mills and Hilary Robinson. Other events include Little Little Man Man, a film installation by artist Tao Lashley-Burnley.
