The dates of the International Biennial of Casablanca 2020 have been announced. The 5th edition will take place from 24 September to 1 November 2020. Its preparation will begin with an incubation phase starting in 2019.

This phase will consist in a program of activities dedicated to the local art scene, including workshops, events and residencies between Casablanca and Ifitry (Essaouira), the development of new local and international collaborations, and initiatives aimed at promoting greater diversity of audiences.

To this end, the biennial will open the vacant parts of its workspace in Casablanca, in the form of a project space that can accommodate medium size events including exhibitions, screenings, workshops and encounters. This new initiative is in line with the intention already, expressed by the biennale during the 2018 edition, to position itself as a platform for artistic exchanges within its local context, while being open to the world.

The launch of the BIC project space will take place in April 2019.
