As part of the exhibition Lubaina Himid: Gifts to Kings, currently on show at the Regional Museum of Contemporary Art (MRAC – Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée) until 16 September 2018, la Panacée (Montpellier) is hosting a conference on Lubaina Himid by Christine Eyene on Wednesday 6 June at 7pm.
La Panacée is also launching its summer programme with two solo exhibitions by POPE.L and Bod and Roberta Smith from 2 June to 26 August.

In Germany, the 10th Berlin Biennale entitled We don’t need another hero will be launching on the weekend of 8 June. Curated by Gabi Ngcobo, with a curatorial team composed of Nomaduma Rosa Masilela, Serubiri Moses, Thiago de Paula Souza, and Yvette Mutumba, the biennial takes place across various venues in Berlin and also includes a number of lectures and performances. In Brussels, a packed programme of activities is currently being prepared at BOZAR including RESIST! The 1960s protests, photography and visual legacy, a major international exhibition curated by Christine Eyene for the Summer of Photography 2018. In addition to the exhibition is planned a panel discussion on Tuesday 26 June, moderated by Dr Antigoni Memou, Senior Lecturer in Visual Theories, University of East London, with some of the participating artists including: Marcelo Brodsky, Gideon Mendel and Oliver Ressler. Christine Eyene will also be in two public conversations with Russian artist and activist Artem Loskutov and American artist Hank Willis Thomas on Wednesday 27 June.
