Nirin: 22nd Biennale of Sydney – selected images
For nearly 50 years, the Biennale of Sydney has presented some of the most dynamic contemporary art from around the globe in iconic venues across Sydney. Curated by Brook Andrew, this year’s exhibition, titled NIRIN (meaning ‘edge’ in Wiradjuri), is an artist- and First Nations-led biennale presenting more than 700 artworks by 101 artists and collectives.
Initially scheduled to run until 8 June 2020, the biennale has closed its doors, until further notice, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
These are some images taken during the biennale’s opening days, shared here as a contribution to the biennale’s digital showcase.
